Proposed FY2026 Budget
The City of Caney City will hold a Public Hearing on December 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. for the City of Caney City Proposed FY2026 Budget. The Public Hearing will be held at the Caney City Fire Station located at 15241 Barron Rd. Caney City, TX. 75148.
This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget by $23,105 which is 8.71% and of that amount $5,204 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
The tax rate supporting this budget lowers the levy on a $100,000 home by approximately $1.94. The Proposed FY2026 Budget can be viewed HERE.
Republic Services Rate Increase
Republic Services has increased the rate for trash collection services starting January 1st, 2026 as per the terms of the contract with the City of Caney City, Amendment to Contract, Section 12.02 Modification to Rates. The rate of the increase is set for 5.10% in accordance with the calculated Consumer Price Index for Urban Consumers - Water, Sewer, and Trash Collection Services provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
